Goldart Jewellery Studio™ was founded in 1977 by Mark Rozanski and a partner in Ottawa, Canada. It was originally established as a small manufacturing and trade repair shop serving local Ottawa jewellery stores. Mark, having a university degree in mathematics, had to learn the different techniques and procedures from his partner, who was a professional jeweller. Throughout the years, he continually learnt about art history, the history of jewellery, fundamentals of designs, principles of manufacturing, and gemmology. Mark’s manual dexterity likely originates from his father, who was an accomplished world-class surgeon. So, in October of 1977, with 20 ounces of gold, homemade workbenches, and an array of professional tools in a rented basement, Goldart™ was formed. Neither of the partners had any idea what they were going to produce or what their target market and pricing structures would be. However, they had a common vision of excellence. In December of that year, Mark said, “Everything that is sold here, will be made here.” To this day, Mark believes that the design and quality should never be compromised for the sake of price. Mark envisioned Goldart™ as a ‘one-of’ artistic jewellery studio where actual work takes place, on-site. We bring your desire and imagination to reality. At Goldart, you truly have infinite options.
