	Cut Clarity Colour Carat	CARAT - Refers to the weight of a diamond. Carat is often confused with size even though it is actually a measure of weight. One metric carat is equivalent to 1/5 of a gram. One carat is usually divided into 100 ‘points’. A 0.50 carat diamond is the same as a 50-points or 1/2 carat diamond. Cost of diamonds rises exponentially with their size. It takes about 10,000 stones to find a 1-carat stone among them. Cut and mounting can make a diamond appear larger (or smaller) than its actual weight.
